Our wines and sparkling wines
How are Zichy Anna sparkling wines made?
Our sparkling wines are made by the traditional method, with bottle fermentation (méthode traditionnelle), from Tokaj fruit. The Brut Nature is zero dosage, meaning it contains no added sugar.
Where are Zichy Anna wines and sparkling wines produced?
At the modern winemaking facility of the Landmark Tokaj Community Infrastructure. Choosing a community winery was a deliberate decision: it commits us to sustainability, environmentally conscious operation and support for local communities.
Which vineyards do the grapes come from?
From four vineyards. Mád gives mineral, taut, long-lived wines with a fine saline finish; Tarcal refined, floral and fruity aromatics with rounder acidity; Szegi has a more humid microclimate because of the nearby Bodrog river; and Sárospatak, with its warmer sites, gives fuller body and ripe fruit character. The soils are volcanic throughout — rhyolite tuff, andesite and, in places, loess.
What is the difference between the Brut Nature and the Frizzante Extra Dry?
The Brut Nature is a Furmint-based, zero-dosage sparkling wine: no added sugar, taut and austerely elegant. The Frizzante Extra Dry is a semi-sparkling wine also built on Furmint, but rounded out by Muscat aromatics — floral, fruity, with a little residual sugar, in a lighter and more playful style.
